Little India Foundation, Project SKAR Comes Together To Aid Delhi Widows

New Delhi: Amid the Covid-19 era, Delhiites are facing hunger crisis in the face of the lockdown, high number of novel coronavirus infections and loss of jobs. The Little India Foundation and the Project SKAR are coming to the aid of the needy and distributing ration among them.

The most special thing about the initiative is that the Little India Foundation and the Project SKAR are coming forward for the widowed women who live alone with their children and do not have any employment or financial support.

In the view of the the lockdown, an initiative of providing employment to these women is also being planned.

“It is very difficult for these widowed women during these tough times. We plan to stand with them as soon as possible so that they could become self-reliant,” the founder of the Foundation, Harmeet Simran, told WeJan.

“These women are going through hunger along with economic crisis due to the lockdown. Both these decisions – ration distribution and arranging employment – were made in view of this difficult time.”

At present, there is a lockdown in the national capital Delhi due to which the daily wages workers are dealing with economic crisis. There is also a hunger crisis and no one is paying attention to it.

Everyone’s prime focus is either on the hospitals or oxygen. The Little India Foundation and the Project SKAR coming together to help the needy at this point of time is a much needed boost.
